About Kevin Newman

Kevin Bradley Newman (born August 4, 1993) is an American professional baseball shortstop for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, and Arizona Diamondbacks. Newman played college baseball for the Arizona Wildcats of the University of Arizona, before the Pirates selected him in the first round of the 2015 MLB draft.

On January 3, 2024, Newman signed a minor league contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks. On March 27, Newman opted out of his contract and became a free agent. The next day, he re–signed with the Diamondbacks on a new minor league contract. On April 7, Newman was selected to the major league roster.
