Alexander Jose Cora (born October 18, 1975) is a Puerto Rican former infielder and manager in Major League Baseball (MLB). He most recently served as the manager of the Boston Red Sox, and led the team to the 2018 World Series championship in his first season, becoming the fifth manager to do so in MLB history and the first as a Puerto Rican manager. He played college baseball at the University of Miami before playing in MLB for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, and Washington Nationals from 1998 through 2011. Cora was a baseball analyst for ESPN before becoming a coach and manager. He is the first first-year manager to win the World Series with the Red Sox.
